Ray Allen has an estimated net worth of $100 million

Ray Allen is an American professional basketball player with an estimated net worth of $100 million. Allen is currently a shooting guard for the Miami Heat. He is 6’5 and weighs 205 pounds. Walter Ray Allen, Jr. was born on July 20, 1975 at Castle Air Force Base in California. A military brat, Allen and his four siblings grew up in California, England and Germany before settling in South Carolina, where he played high school basketball. After leading his school to a state championship, Allen attended the University of Connecticut from 1993 to 1996. At UCONN he was named an All American and USA Basketball’s Male Athlete of the Year in 1995.

After a historic college career, Allen was selected fifth in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves but immediately traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, where he played from 1996 to 2003. From the onset, Allen was a prolific scorer and shooter and he would go on to win the 3-point shootout in 2001, as well as being named to the All-NBA Third Team that year. In 2003, Allen was traded to the Seattle Supersonics, where he played five years and signed a 5-year, $80 million contract after the 2005 season. He scored a career high 54 points against the Utah Jazz in 2007. At the end of that year, the Sonics traded Allen to the Boston Celtics and he became part of Boston’s “Big Three,” along with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.

A year after joining the Celtics, Allen would win his first NBA Title as they would defeat the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2008 NBA Finals, including hitting a finals record seven 3-pointers in the series-clinching Game 6.  He would break that record in 2010, with eight 3-pointers in Game 2 of the NBA Finals, although the Celtics would eventually lose the series. In 2011, Allen would become the NBA’s all-time leading 3-point shooter. In 2012, Allen rejected a 2-year offer from the Celtics in favor of joining the star-studded Miami Heat for less money. The move immediately paid dividends for the reigning champions as Allen hit a number of game winning shots in the regular season and then, in pivotal Game 6 of the NBA Finals, hit among the biggest shots in NBA history with a 3-pointer to save the Heat’s season. The shot allowed the Heat to tie the San Antonio Spurs near the end of regulation and the team would eventually win Game 6 in overtime and Game 7 to lift its second consecutive NBA Title. It was Allen’s second title. Allen will long be remembered for playing the lead role in Spike Lee’s 1998 film, He Got Game, alongside Denzel Washington. His character, “Jesus Shuttlesworth” would lead to his nickname, “Jesus.” He would later appear in the film Harvard Man. Allen is married to Shannon Walker Williams and they have three children.
