Udonis Haslem is an American professional basketball player with an estimated net worth of $15 million. He is currently a power forward/center for the Miami Heat. Haslem  is 6’8″ and weighs 235 pounds. Udonis Johneal Haslem was born on June 9, 1980 in Miami, Florida. Haslem first played high school basketball in Jacksonville but transferred to Miami Senior High soon afterward. The school was a perennial powerhouse in state basketball and with Haslem’s help they won state titles in 1997 and 1998. A subsequent investigation, however, revealed that Haslem did not live within the residency parameters to attend school at Miami High and eventually the high school title in 1998 was stripped.

Despite his high school troubles, Haslem accepted a scholarship to play at the University of Florida and would go on to have a storied career with the Gators. He started as an undersized center for four years at Florida and led the team to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Final Four and championship game appearance in 2000.  Haslem would go on to finish his college career at UF as the third all-time leading scorer for the school and 10^th best rebounder.  Although he was a talented player, his weight ballooned to over 300 pounds after school and he was cut after being drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in 2002. He spent a year playing professionally in France and lost 70 pounds, after which he came back to the U.S.

The Miami Heat signed Haslem in 2003 and immediately showed his worth being named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2003. He would go on to win a starting spot as power forward a year later and has become an integral part of the team since then, including the teams that won NBA Titles in 2006, 2012 and 2013. Haslem is characterized by his tough-nosed spirit and game, including being a tenacious rebounder and defender who is able to knock down open jump shots.
